Zero Tolerance

We will not accept violance within our practice

The Practice places great importance on addressing any instances of abusive or violent behavior towards its staff, doctors, or nursing team.

The Practice fully supports the government's 'Zero Tolerance' campaign aimed at protecting Health Service Staff. According to this campaign, GPs and their team should be able to provide care without the fear of being subjected to attacks or abuse. In order to deliver these services effectively, it is essential to establish mutual respect between staff and patients. Our staff members strive to be polite, helpful, and considerate of each patient's individual needs and circumstances. They kindly remind patients that they often face various challenging tasks and situations simultaneously. The staff members understand that individuals who are unwell may not always behave reasonably, and they take this into account when addressing misunderstandings or complaints.

However, aggressive behavior, whether physical or verbal, will not be tolerated. Such behavior may lead to the removal of the patient from the Practice list and, in extreme cases, involvement of the police.

To maintain a positive relationship with our patients, we kindly request that all patients read and acknowledge the following types of behavior that are considered unacceptable:

  • Using offensive language or swearing at practice staff.
  • Engaging in any form of physical violence towards any member of the Primary Health Care Team or fellow patients, such as pushing or shoving.
  • Verbally abusing staff members in any manner, including insults.
  • Racial abuse and sexual harassment will not be tolerated within this practice.
  • Making persistent or unrealistic demands that cause stress to staff members will not be accepted. Whenever possible, requests will be accommodated, and explanations will be provided when they cannot be fulfilled.
  • Causing damage or stealing from the Practice's premises, staff, or fellow patients.
  • Engaging in fraudulent activities to obtain drugs and/or medical services.

We kindly ask you to treat your GPs and their staff with courtesy at all times.
